This package is the perfect add on to a safari tour, or a great option for those after a shorter getaway. Your package includes 7 nights accommodation and car hire to explore the Cape at your pace. We will provide nightly restaurant bookings at our personal favourite venues. Dinners are not included in your package to allow you freedom to chose what you desire. You’ll be amazed at the incredible quality for surprisingly low prices.
Itinerary
Day 1
Arrive in Cape Town and collect your hire car before driving to your city hotel. Spend the day settling in and exploring the beautiful Western Cape capital at your own pace. We will offer plenty of suggestions for sightseeing and touring. Dinner booking at Gold Restaurant.
Day 2
Spend the day exploring the Cape. Perhaps drive along the amazing coastline to visit Boulders Beach and experience a first class lunch at Harbour House. You can continue to the Cape of Good Hope before returning to Cape Town for the night. Dinner booking at La Colombe Restaurant. This spectacular restaurant is routinely crowned the best in Africa, and always features on Worlds Best Restaurant lists.
Day 3
Spend another day enjoying all the beauty Cape Town has to offer. Consider a hike up Table Mountain, a waterside lunch at the V&A or explore the colourful Bo Kapp. There is plenty to do in and around Cape Town to keep you busy! Dinner booking at Addis in Cape Restaurant. Quite the contrast to your previous night! Addis in Cape is a relaxed, laid back Ethiopian restaurant in the heart of Cape Town. If you’ve never eaten Ethiopian food before, it’s quite the culinary experience, however their amazing staff are on hand to show you through the experience.
Day 4
Start your Windlands experience by driving about 45 minutes to our favourite little town of Franschhoek. This guest house is a personal recommendation and the owner will offer amazing service. Spend the afternoon relaxing by the pool and exploring the towns amazing botiques. Franschhoek is also the South Africa Celebrity Chef hotspot. Dinner tonight is at Le Coin Francais; Darren Badenhorst’s amazing 5 star restaurant.
Day 5
Get ready for the Franschhoek Wine Tram! Truly the world leader in winery tourism, spend the day exploring some of the worlds best wineries and experience amazing cuisine and hospitality. Chose from one of many different lines available. Leave the car at the guest house and kick back for the day. We’d recommend lunch at Paulinas’ restaurant at Rickety Bridge winery. Relax by the pool in the afternoon as you prepare for dinner. Tonight, dine at Le Petite Colombe, the sister restaurant to La Colombe in Cape Town.
Day 6
Spend the day exploring the winelands. Drive the Franschhoek pass, visit wineries and explore the towns many hidden treasures. Take a relaxing lunch before spending the afternoon enjoying local wines and cheeses. Take the short drive across to Hermanus for your last two nights. This cute little down is located right on the coast. You can take the coastal walk and make your way into town. During whale season, you’ll spot the giants of the sea from multiple lookout points. South Africa is famed for it’s amazing meats, so tonight dine at Char’d Grill & Wine Bar. You’ll select your own meats directly from the display and it will be cooked to your liking.
Day 7
Enjoy a relaxing last day in Hermanus. Drive to a nearby winery, venture to Betty’s Bay to see the penguins or just chill out on one of Hermanus’ amazing beaches. Enjoy a relaxed, casual dinner at Fusion Restaurant in the heart of town. Food doesn’t have to be fancy to be good, and Fusion creates classic, honest meals with great South African quality.
Day 8
Drive back to Cape Town International Airport to board your return flight to Australia (or onwards).
